The Night is Darkest Before the Dawn

We have once again reached the eve of a new year by the grace of God.  The fact that there have been countless instances throughout the year that threatened our well-being is something we often neglect to think about.  I must admit this is probably the first time that I have ever cared to contemplate what I have made it through in a year.  Though I lost two family members in 2008, those experiences almost pale in comparison to the roller coaster of emotions I have been on throughout 2009.

I have struggled physically, mentally, and emotionally to better myself in all aspects of life and I would just like to express gratitude to the Lord for granting me the desire and time to improve myself because I know many others long for a similar opportunity.  If you feel like your chance at improvement is approaching too slowly just remember that "They That Wait" on the Lord, as Fred Hammond so aptly stated, shall renew their strength and that "Your Latter Will be Greater" as Martha Munizzi echoes in her song of the same name.

You may have reached the end of this year only to realize that the life you have lead the past 12 months has been less than exemplary.  Perhaps you have many regrets or think that things in your life could not get any worse.  Even so, you must realize that "The night is always darkest before the dawn", and that the silver lining in the storm clouds hovering over you will manifest itself sooner than you think.  Don't spend this next 365 days coveting all of the good those around you are experiencing, but concentrate on creating your own success story. You have been granted the miracle of life long enough to bring in the new year and that is a success story in and of itself.

As you embark on this new year, remember that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose (Rom 8:28). I hope this post was uplifting to someone because it was certainly therapeutic for me. God Bless and have a prosperous New Year!!!

Until January,

"Go Ye Therefore & Teach All Nations....."

My buddy Don P. saw fit to enlighten me and some other friends with the Word given at the church he attended this Sunday. I was most certainly appreciative that he even considered sharing it with us. Since all my help comes from the Lord (Psalms 121:2), I welcome any positive influence or rather Iron to sharpen my own (Prov 27:17) that can be provided by my peers.  Since Don reminded me of my duty to go ye therefore and Teach all nations (Matt:28:19), I decided what better way than via the world wide web.  Read it and hopefully you can find some way to apply it . God Bless <3

Here are my notes from church today...I hope that they are somehow
useful and encouraging.

Love you all,
DonP

December 27, 2009 - Zebulon First Baptist
Rev. Dr. Laura Johnson
Genesis 2:4-7

4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they
were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the
heavens,
5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every
herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it
to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face
of the ground.
7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed
into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

The key word that is looked at here is DUST.

Goes on to talk about the properties of dust...

Dust is less than dirt...even dirt has substance and can be shaped and
molded into form, but dust...

Think about when you are cleaning...often times when you dust, you end
up spreading more than you gather...and then it most likely settles
right back where you cleaned it from...

When you think about dust it has no substance...it is not at useful,
yet it is what God chose to create man from...

Not only are we made from dust, but we are worth much more than
dust...because of God's gift of life-His life...

What makes this special is that in spite of, God breathed into us His
breath...it made our worthlessness so very valuable...

He was letting us know that there is a greater destiny to which we are
called...

How awesome is God to create from dust something so miraculous of a
creature...no other creature did God breathe into His breath of life...

How great Thou art...

God took nothing and made something...

Had it not been for His love, we would still be useless, substanceless
dust...

With God, ALL things are possible...

Thanks Don P! ^_^

I'd Like to Thank My Mama

Since I forgot to do it on my first post, id like to give a shout out to James Malloy who was my first follower when all I had was a blinking cursor in this text box. You were down for the cause from the jump and just like Tupac said...."You Are Appreciated" ^_^

Allow Me To REintroduce Myself........

Sooooo..... I have recently become a self-proclaimed blog junkie. I entertained the idea of starting my own, but was concerned that I wouldn't really have much to talk about. I guess that's out the window cuz like the Rick Ross song, "Here I Am!" Im sure many think that there is not much left to know about a person with an account on nearly every online social network (NO MYSPACE FREAK HERE!), but as the saying goes "there is much more than meets the eye". Contrary to popular belief, what someone displays in their About Me section of a profile is more like a pin hole than a window into who a person truly is.  Hopefully, this blog will serve as a more intimate way of connecting myself to those who are close, but have a desire to get closer to me as well as for those who have chosen to remain a "Distant Lover" (yes I know you love me lol) in the words of Marvin Gaye. Thanks for not closing your browser without pausing to hear me out and I hope this is not your last conversation with a "curl" interrupted.

Ciao,
