We have once again reached the eve of a new year by the grace of God. The fact that there have been countless instances throughout the year that threatened our well-being is something we often neglect to think about. I must admit this is probably the first time that I have ever cared to contemplate what I have made it through in a year. Though I lost two family members in 2008, those experiences almost pale in comparison to the roller coaster of emotions I have been on throughout 2009.
I have struggled physically, mentally, and emotionally to better myself in all aspects of life and I would just like to express gratitude to the Lord for granting me the desire and time to improve myself because I know many others long for a similar opportunity. If you feel like your chance at improvement is approaching too slowly just remember that "They That Wait" on the Lord, as Fred Hammond so aptly stated, shall renew their strength and that "Your Latter Will be Greater" as Martha Munizzi echoes in her song of the same name.
You may have reached the end of this year only to realize that the life you have lead the past 12 months has been less than exemplary. Perhaps you have many regrets or think that things in your life could not get any worse. Even so, you must realize that "The night is always darkest before the dawn", and that the silver lining in the storm clouds hovering over you will manifest itself sooner than you think. Don't spend this next 365 days coveting all of the good those around you are experiencing, but concentrate on creating your own success story. You have been granted the miracle of life long enough to bring in the new year and that is a success story in and of itself.
As you embark on this new year, remember that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose (Rom 8:28). I hope this post was uplifting to someone because it was certainly therapeutic for me. God Bless and have a prosperous New Year!!!
Until January,
